Developed Several Customer & Vendor Tracking Portals Real-Time Data Capturing systems.

Challenges

Challenges faced while developing the Customer Tracking and Vendor Tracking portal are:

1. Providing UI/UX controls like Lookup, Multi Column Dropdowns, text boxes similar to Business Central to give the same feel to the customer. 

2. Allowing customers and vendors to view their relevant data such as orders, outstanding payments, invoices, ledgers, etc.

 

Challenges faced while integrating different machines related to equipment testing in a Web App: 

1. Accessing the machines through USB, RS232, LAN by using a web application instead of a Windows application. 

2. Getting data from the machine in raw format, so processing the data and updating it into the system in real-time was a challenge. 

3. One machine was placed in a remote location, and the server was placed in another location. Providing real-time data on the Web Application screen was a challenge. iv. Generating reports with different constellations and uploading the reports into ERP Systems such as D365 BC, SAP B1, and some tailored-made ERP systems.

Solution

Solution provided for Customer Tracking and Vendor Tracking portal (CTP/VTP):

1. Implemented Telerik controls and created custom UI toolkits to provide a similar look and feel as Business Central to customers and vendors.

2. Implemented accessibility of ERP system by using OData and SOAP API, enabling mapping of fields to be displayed on user screens for customers and vendors.

3. Implemented secure login with Two-Factor Authentication using OTP to ensure data security.

Solution provided for Machine integration:

1. Hosted a web application on the local network to make all machines accessible through LAN, RS232, and USB. Provided a centralized web hosting solution in the local network to fetch data from machines such as Yukogawa, Raytech, Megger, and Temperature Scanner. Also provided a hardware setup solution to create a hub for USB, RS232 connections, allowing all machines to connect to the server via the hub.

2. Deciphered the raw string received from machines, which contained junk characters, based on client requirements and final data and mathematical calculations provided by the client.

3. Implemented a similar solution as provided for point 1.

4. Generated reports in SSRS with different layouts as per client’s requirements. Set up the layouts based on the report requirements for different tests performed on electrical equipment

Results

Customer Tracking and Vendor Tracking Portal (CTP/VTP):

1. Successfully achieved a similar look and feel as Business Central with BC UI Toolkits, providing a seamless user experience.

2. Implemented OData and SOAP API for dynamic field mapping without making changes in the code, allowing for easy customization and adaptation to changes in Business Central.

3. Implemented Two-Factor Authentication with SMS and Email integration, enhancing the security of the login process.

Results for Machine Integrations:

1. Enabled real-time monitoring of testing data for electrical equipment from anywhere around the globe, providing real-time visibility to users and their customers.

2. Saved significant time (around 200 hours per week) for a team of 10 people through the provided integration, improving efficiency and productivity.

3. Automated the report approval process, sending reports for approval to defined hierarchy and allowing for actions to be performed on reports using digital signatures, streamlining the approval workflow.
